HydroComp naval architect Alex Walker will be presenting Enhancing the Fidelity of Orca3D Marine CFD Planing-Hull Simulations with HydroComp NavCad® with Orca3D at the Pre-Conference Workshop on September 30. Register for the Orca3D Marine CFD Workshop here.
He will lead you though a “design guide” case study highlighting how HydroComp’s NavCad® software can be used to enhance the fidelity of Orca3D Marine CFD planing-hull simulations. Benefits of incorporating NavCad into your Orca3D design process includes establishing benchmarks for CFD quality assessment, generating “propeller effect” shaft-line forces to more fully develop the Orca3D Marine CFD force model, returning a “sparse CFD” set of results back into NavCad for an “aligned prediction” on the full set of speeds, and sizing a propeller as part of the NavCad Vessel-Propulsor-Drive system to generate and export propeller performance data for an Orca3D Marine CFD self-propulsion simulation.
We will be exhibiting with Orca3D at Booth 2-345.
