License Viewer Installation

Download, extract, and run the installation from: HCILicenseViewerSetup.zip

If the installation is successful, you can find the start link at:
Start > [All] Programs > HydroComp License Utilities > License Viewer


Troubleshooting

We do not expect that you will have difficulty viewing or updating the license information on your hardware-based USB security key. However, in rare instances, it is possible that the hardware is not correctly recognized. Follow these steps to repair or change your security key driver installation. NOTE: this modification is for the key drivers and NOT the License Viewer.

REPAIR THE DRIVER

Sometimes the fix is as easy as repairing the driver installation.

  • Remove the USB security key from the computer.
  • Go to “Programs and Features” (in Control Panel).
  • Click on the “Sentinel System Driver Installer” and then click “Repair”.
  • Allow the repair process to complete.
  • Plug the USB security key back into the computer.

CHANGE THE DRIVER

This is particularly relevant for those running Windows 10, as we have identified that updates (after April 2018) can cause a communication error between the License Viewer and the security key. A modification to the security key drivers to restore the “Parallel Driver” can provide a fix for this.

  • Remove the USB security key from the computer.
  • Go to “Programs and Features” (in Control Panel).
  • Click on the “Sentinel System Driver Installer” and then click “Change”.
  • Select “Modify”, and click the “Parallel Driver” so that “This feature will be installed on your local hard drive”.
  • Complete and close the installation.
  • Plug the USB security key back into the computer.
